年近50歲的英国失業婦人Susan Boyle 雖然沒有出色的外貌，
但那黃鶯出谷般的歌聲，
让她在英國選秀節目的演出征服了全英國甚至是全世界人的心，

Susan Boyle的爸爸是工廠的倉庫員工，
媽媽是餐廳的服務生，家中排行老么，
有四個哥哥跟五個姊姊，媽媽在四十七歲時生下了她，
由於當時難產的緣故令她腦不缺氧，導致她有學習上的障礙 ，
小時後常常被同學嘲笑。(可能也長得不漂亮，更受大家的欺負）
她自稱從沒被人吻過, 也沒約會過,
她一直都沒結婚，也一直處於失業狀態，
爸爸死後其餘的哥哥姊姊也都離開了家，剩下她跟重病的老媽媽同住，
到2007年媽媽去世後留下她跟十歲的貓咪互相陪伴，但她沒有因此放棄自己，
還是繼續保持樂觀的生活態度。
多年前母親生病，歌星夢更不可能實現，只有全心照顧母親。
参加選秀節目是母親過世兩年來首次獻唱，總算完成了母親的遺願。
